Banjo #17 is an open-back banjo. 
 
Rim is 11" steam bent hickory with pear tone ring and a claro walnut burl trim cap
Neck is curly maple with curly maple and black veneer center strip
Ebony peghead with Mother of Pearl and crushed stone tin man inlay 
Fretboard is ebony with mosaic brass, aluminum and copper chord markers
Handmade bridge of pear and bone
Neck has an adjustable truss rod that is accessed through the heel. 
Tuners are Gotoh tuners and the remaining hardware is brass finish from Balsam Banjo Works. 
Scale length is 25-1/2". 
Handmade nut is bone.
