Some classes are just all out fun!

I just arrived home from teaching one of my "creativity classes." I call them AWOL - Art WithOut Lines. They are meant for a lot of different creative people, but I focus marketing to ladies who have a desire to create art, but do not feel comfortable with their drawing skills...

I have mostly offered mixed media kinds of classes because that is a wide open arena, some of the classes have explored:

- image transfer

- watercolor line & wash

- monoprint & watercolor

- ecoprinting

- collage

- modeling paste and acrylics

- copper embossing

and today... asemic writing

WOW - it was an awesome day. I don't know if it is because we were all recently cooped up in middle Tennessee due to a less than normal snow storm, or if it was just the energy in the room - but regardless, it was a day filled with fellowship, chatter, and CrEaTiViTy ShArInG.

Asemic writing is basically what your doctor uses to write your prescription - loopy cursive that you cannot read.

We worked our way through two asemic / collages today. One started with a black background, and the other with a white background. Some brought "aged" images from home, some used the "aged" images I provided. They all came out with beautiful pieces of art, worthy of mats and frames.

Material used:

- black construction paper

- white construction paper

- tempera paint

- white and black posca pens

- royalty free images from sites like www.pixabay.com / www. unsplash.com

- leftover ecoprint papers from another class

- alphabet stamps & stencils

I hope the ladies joining me today had as much fun as I did.
